It is a paradox, yet the human brain is self-protective; hence we always assume the worst-case scenario. That's our comfort zone. However, with a little effort, there is a better way to an abundant life.

Let's take a look at this conversation.

A wise teacher once said to his student:

- Please look around this room and try to find everything in it that is brown.

The young man looked around. There were many brown objects: wooden picture frames, a sofa, a curtain rod, book covers and many other minor things.

You're lucky; you caught the wave in time, have good karma, and are charismatic, pretty, sexy, and energetic. If I had what you have, I'd do many things.

People like to justify their inaction and devalue the success of others. 

Everyone sees the end result, but no one sees the intermediate steps. And the hardest things happen during this period: you doubt your own abilities; you have no one to talk to because you're surrounded by people who think differently; you don't know where to go; you have no money.

Well, you may not feel comfortable about the source where this story is taken; trust me - it's the best and hits the nail on the head.

In the Bible, there was a story about a woman pleading with a corrupt and evil judge (Luke 18:1-8). Though he is corrupt, and likely judges, fairly only in case of a lucrative bribe. But, as we read, he says he doesn't; he does not fear, neither god nor human.

I remember a story about ancient Hun warrior and military leader Atila. 

He was once asked by their military ally - the commander of the Roman army to lie down in an ambush and wait for a signal to attack.

An ordinary general would have waited for an envoy to deliver concise orders or an obvious sign.

All-star teams fail because they rely solely on the individual's talent. The Soviets win because they take that talent and use it inside a system that's designed for the betterment of the team.

Whenever I am asked to provide the main factors for building up an effective team, this quote comes into mind. However, I am absolutely dazzled by the last six words: "for the betterment of the team".

Hence, there must be something or a set of things you must implement and do for the betterment of the team.
