Catch your wave - How to find the purpose of your life?

Catch your wave - How to find the purpose of your life? | Janis Janovskis

You're lucky; you caught the wave in time, have good karma, and are charismatic, pretty, sexy, and energetic. If I had what you have, I'd do many things.

People like to justify their inaction and devalue the success of others.

Everyone sees the end result, but no one sees the intermediate steps. And the hardest things happen during this period: you doubt your own abilities; you have no one to talk to because you're surrounded by people who think differently; you don't know where to go; you have no money.

Sometimes you look in the mirror and think it's the end, and there's no point in moving on. You don't have confidence; you don't hear yourself; you don't hear the world around you. No one needs you, and no one cares about you. You are blind, deaf and weak at the same time.

Talking with friends doesn't help; it just gives you a little breathing room. But because those conversations need to include the solution you're looking for.

It's all left out of the picture. And the person on the outside thinks there really is some magic pill that will change his life instantly.

It is a very insidious trap that many fall into. Use your mind to avoid it. You need this as much as a seed needs soil because to find yourself, you must find your way; it will not come to you by itself.

The two most important days in your life are the day you are born, and the day you find out why.
It's a well-known quote, paraphrased by so many authors that I can't even claim the real one.

From The John Maxwell coaching perspective, we have two methods - laws we suggest practising:

  • The Law of Awareness.
  • The Law of the Mirror.

The first deals with your why; you need to know yourself. The Second teaches you to set your value.

The purpose of your life: Awareness can come in all shapes and sizes; let me share a few examples.

  • I met that person at one of my motivational gigs. She had created a community of individuals interested in Michelin's three-star dining experiences. Sounds amusing, yet people were flocking around her, thanks to Her great care and sincerity towards community members. That, in turn, inspired Her to push on.
  • Fairytale character's social group. I met them on a family Holiday. We stayed at the same hotel where this group hosted a socialising gig. It looked a bit strange until I discovered that community members admired the same values: care and sincerity.

In both cases, thanks to one person's strong values and awareness, they became the cornerstone of two great communities.

Both founders had a vision bigger than themselves, knew their value and had a strong awareness of what they could achieve. There was no magic or comparison - they just did their own thing.

Now, imagine what you can do for your friends, colleagues, community, congregation, etc.

Do get in touch if you need help building awareness and your value.
