Alchohol and energy

The other day, when I wrote about energy, I meant not consuming alcohol at all and that to restore physical power, you need to do four things - get enough sleep, have a healthy diet, do exercises and drink enough water. But if you have alcohol in your life and have no energy, then alcohol should be removed first and only then should you do the other four things.

Since I haven't drunk alcohol for a long time, I forgot to add this item to the list. Alcohol is the most significant energy eater, though it might seem otherwise due to rising dopamine levels (while consuming it). I realised now that I should have also put it on my list.


I don't have alcohol in my life now, but it wasn't like that before.

I realise now that I don't need it. I don't enjoy the taste of it, much less the state of my brain fogged up.

I didn't pay much attention to it before, and when hanging out with my friends, it was customary to have a drink. I remember that we genuinely didn't understand someone in our group if they didn't drink alcohol. It was customary for me to drink in a group of people. I was always doing it and drinking beer, wine, or something even stronger. It makes me sick when I think about these times.

And I remember that I never liked being drunk, but I drank because everybody drank, and I thought it was fantastic. Furthermore, there was always alcohol at all the feasts when I was a kid. So I thought that it was a normal situation.

But now that I don't drink at all, I realise that there are alternate options to alcohol to chill out and celebrate. I understand that this is how it should be from the beginning, that many people have an inherently wrong attitude from childhood and continue to consume alcohol because of it.



I am glad I do not have to remove it now because it is no longer an issue.

 

And, to prove my resolution and commitment are right: Neuroscience backs it up - Alcohol does no good to one's brain and plays no input on an energy boost.

But if you realise that you have no energy for new achievements, try to remove alcohol from your life at least and feel the difference!
